DelmaRae Menke and her son, Joseph Menke
and our other family members (see pet page)

Templeview Bed and Breakfast was established in 2002.  Due to unforseen health concerns of the former owners/managers and with heavy hearts had to give up their retirement dream.  During 2003 thru 2006 DelmaRae Menke stepped in to help them run Templeview.  In early 2007, they decide that with continuning medical difficulties they made the difficult decision to place Templeview on the real estate market.

The former owners still live in beautiful Nauvoo, but with sadness watch their lovely home remain empty.  In 2009 I approached them about reopening Templeview totally under my direction.

I have added to the charm of the home with my collection of cherished family antiques, quilts and knicknacks.  The Stossel's are so excited for me in fulfulling this dream.

They have experienced the love and care I gave and look foward to be giving to all our guests.  Come enjoy the delicious food, friendly surroundings and delightful accommodations of Templeview.  Side note:  Nancy Stossel passed away in March 2010.  We will miss her.

Templeview Bed and Breakfast is the fulfillment of a life long dream.

I come with the experience of managing Templeview plus acting as a subsitute manager for another historic Bed and Breakfast, caterer, event and wedding coordinator, etc, etc.

  • We have lived in Nauvoo for over 7 1/2 years and love this beautiful bend on the Mississippi River and its vibrant history.
  • Active member of the Nauvoo Chamber of Commerce for the past 7 years as a wedding/event planner, caterer, floral designer, seamstress and professional photographer.  I sometimes get asked how many hats I wear.  I reply just one at a time and I am thankful for the Lord blessing me with so many talents.  I liken it unto the parable of the talents that if I do not use them and share them I will be liken unto the unprophetable servant.  The Lord admonished us to share and increase our talents and abilities.
  • Mother of 4 grown children, just one at home (Joseph) he always has a smile to share and a hand to help service.
  • Feline lover - we have 3 that have been part of our family for over 13 years.  See PETS for more information
  • Avid lover of history and re-enactment of the Nauvoo Period.
  • Active member of Scouting and other committee service.
